Pastor Kevin S. Perry was born and raised in Fresno, California. He was a long time member of St. Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Fresno,California under the late Pastor Chester Riggins. In 1987 Pastor Perry moved to Bakersfield, California. From 1996 to 2008, Pastor Perry and his family were members of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Bakersfield, California under the late Pastor Dr. Tyree T. Toliver.
While at St. John, Pastor Perry accepted his call by God to preach in 2002. He was involved in various ministries: He was an associate minister, he co-taught Sunday school with his wife, Elandra, conducted bible study with the youth and adults, in addition to other ministerial duties. In 2007 Pastor Perry graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Pastoral studies from Southwestern College of Winfield, Kansas.
In mid September 2008, Pastor Perry was guided by God to plant a church in Bakersfield, California. On October 12, 2008, four families joined Pastor Perry and New Hope Christian Community Church was planted. Pastor Perry was ordained on April 19, 2009 by Pastor Chester McGensy of Family Community Church in Fresno, California and Pastor Ed Lee of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Fresno, California.
On January 20, 2010, New Hope Christian Community Church's name was changed to New Hope Bible Church in order to further define the purpose of this ministry.
Pastor Perry is a dedicated servant-leader in doing the will of God. Pastor Perry believes in addressing the social issues in the community, strengthening families and individuals, and reaching the youth and the lost through the teaching of God's Word.
Pastor Perry is a firm believer according to the scriptures in James 1:22 that we, as Christians should not only be hearers of God's Word but also doers of God's Word--something he strives to live by as an example and an encourager to his family, congregation, and the community.
Pastor Perry is married to his wife, Elandra for over 26 years. They are blessed with two daughters, Nicole and Melissa, and a joyous grandson, Nicolas.
